Description

With swimmers being taken in ever increasing numbers, many of the world's beaches are closed as various governments ask for the help of Dr van der Bek's Oceanic Research Lab. With Sea Siren and War Siren still in dry dock, the Australian government leases the Lab a pair of vintage mid 21st century fighter subs. Taking one on a recon dive, Simon comes face to face with one of the threats the Mer have been trying to warn Humans about since First Contact. With Megalodon dwarfing his vehicle, Simon wished for the umpteenth time that Sea Siren had been ready. DAZ: Shark, Great White Tex, Multiplane Cyclorama, Haunted Depths, Michael 3, Everyday Wear 2, Digger Donovan, Sea Floor Pack 1. R'osity: Fighter Sub Greywolf PS: No, I'm Canadian, not Australian. With the Research Lab being in the Great Barrier Reef, and Australia being close, it was the most likely leaser of equipment. :)

If it is the cartoon effect you are going for, it works. Cute image.

The shark has pink lips? @@; That may be what's throwing some people. Red becomes gray under blue-green water. If deep enough, it's black. The basic set-up is FABOO! My first thought was, "Wrong title--should be 'Crunchy with Cocktail Sauce'!" Really cool pic. I love the set-up. ^^ V,,

The shark has Pink Gums like most every animal on the planet, looks like lips but it's clearly gums if you look close. Excellent image. I reccommend people click on it for the full sized image. I don't know if the figure allows it but if you could add some specularity to the shark's eye, it would go a long way towards making it look more menacing and real to me.

I like underwater scenes. The difference in scale is presented quite effectively. There are similar shapes in the sub and the shark which also works well. The position of the front sea-weeds and the ruin in the back could be improved, they are both right in the center.Positioning the ruins between the fin and the tail and the front weeds all the way to the right could make a better composition.

I will admit personally sharks scare the snot outta me, on the other hand they are also quite tastey when cooked on the grill with some lemon, salt and pepper. I think that the image has the proper depth feel to it, not only with the water but also with the perspective of the imagery. I will say that I agree with lost on the eyes though. To me they look more like blank holes in its head than eyes but, as to how to fix that I have absolutely no clue. And a little nature fact: sharks when they come upon and object in the water will often bump it with thier nose or even bite down on the object. This is to see if it is edible, a danger, or just something to be ignored. Thus the pink of the gums is quite proper as the shark would be in investigation mode around the sub, albiet probably biting it in half.

Fabulous :) A small thing, I think the sub pilot needs some "freaking out" to his pose, he's taking it a lot more calmly than I would!

The light effects onthe ground an on the shark are really good, as is the light in general. I would agree about the position of the ruin, that it should be placed somewaht out of the center, and perhaps the bump on the shark is a little bit exaggerated.

That's one big shark! I love the caustics you've got here. Really adds to an underwater feel. If you could get some bubbles in there, it would really enhance that.

hey, I almost missed this one! Funny, megalodon looks rather happy to see Simon. Nice caustics, and very nice lighting. I agree that the ruins probably shouldn't be in the center...
