Description

People going to work off shore on the oil stuff call Grand Isle "End of the World" Get on hyway 1 going south and go all the way down intill you can not go no more and you there. You be asking "Are we there yet" It looks like a nice place. I was surprise it was not destroy from the storm that destroy New Orleans. You do not hear these people complaining like New Orleans. I just saw one house with some windows broken that was not up to stiff here. The rest look like new paint jobs and new roofs. Not from the goverment but they own work. Louisiana is sadly behind on helping the people here. Not they fault; They been doing this way from the Civil War days. Oh I off the subjuct lol "Not like me hahahahahahah" I off all the time I know. I like this shot even thought my camera did not open all the way. It get stuck at times so when I open it; I learn to look first but I was driveing at 35 mph here shot thought a dirty window too. lol. I did clean the camera but I guess it getting old now. Guess it six years old. I saw some hotels there. I like that trailer up on those stilts. That be my style lol. If I had the money I would have a house but then I be worry of storms. A lot of these is camps and places to rent too. You see this all alone the Louisiana and Texas coast line. Thanks for looking and comments

Great shot from a moving car and the camera not opening all the way made for a cool effect!! I was in Grand Isle just before the hurricane and went to the state park on the east end of the island....a beautiful place!!

Good POV in this capture, Jocko, despite the dark cloud effect at the upper left. Those structures on stilts makes it look like they were initially planned as two story buildings, but forgetting to finish constructing the first floor. Looks like your camera is a good candidate for the repair shop.

I would like the 'elevated' feeling in I lived in one of those houses on stilts. Nice shot Dad, I can't believe it came out so clear while going down the road!

love it! This is what I called "home" - this type of scene. I lived up the mainland a bit on the Gulf Coast but spent time on The Island (Galveston) where flat saltland was the norm and houses were all on stilts. I got to say that a trailer on stilts is a bit confusing for me though...it might survive the water but the wind is still gonna carry it away! LOL. Really nice shot!

Fantastic pic .. you must be able to see forever there, the land is so flat! I'm partial to hills and valleys.

A very good shot Jocko to learn to us, than certain people must live in houses perched high on pile! I thank thait if these are always here, is because the wind go under the houses, and over without obtain some resistance ! If you don't write wher are these house, I will think on a base around high-latitude continent !!!

A wonderful architecture photography! What the reason that all the houses are built on jambs? Is it because of the water? An excellent shot!!!

Folks got jobs I never heard of so they can live places I never would consider. That's why the police don't work. Nothing in common.
