These guys must have a very strong neck to hold that hat up. But the uniform and hat goes so well together. Beautiful capture..... Aloha

A wonderful shot, Rozanne. Warm and colourful! How they walk about with the busby balanced upon their heads.. I do not know :-) Wish London would send some warmth up North!! So cold in North Yorkshire :-( Happy night and Hugs. Diane.

From his shoulder badge, sword, and the even spacing of his buttons, he would appear to be an officer in the Grenadier Guards, Rozanne. This is the big bearskin. A shorter version used to be used by fusiliers, and was called a 'Busby', but nowhere near East Kilbride. I think the Royal Horse Artillery ( used for the ten gun salutes etc. ) still use the busby, and maybe for full dress in the Hussar regiments. Enough of the nerdy stuff, I hope the weather is better over in Catalonia, although I did gather, over the last few years, that Espana could do with more 'rain on the plain'. We are all suffering from electoral confusion in Scotland, but the weather, dare I say it, is glorious. 'Warm Regards', John.

Excellent capture of this Guard officer in his finest at the palace. Glad the "redcoats" have been on our side the past 90 years. A salute to America's brave ally - the UK!
