Description
Captured 5/3/07, in the Pavilion of Wings, located on the lovely premises of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, which, incidentally, is adjacent to the University of Southern California and the LA Coliseum.
Pictured is the lovely Monarch, with wings aflutter, sucking up nectar through its proboscis.
Thanks for the visit, and it's much too early in the day for me to conjure up anything else of a profound nature.

really nice job of photographing this. Too bad the wings were in motion because I'd love to see the detail in them. The compo on this is so lovely!

Beautiful shot. I really like the wings in motion. I think it gives the photo a feeling of excitement - will it take off in a second? There's some anticipation built in. Nice bevel, too!

did you know that the Monarch is the Texas state insect?. I will be glad when they come through on their way to Mexico. last year there was hardly any but of late we had rain, so maybe they will show up. excellent work
