Description

This is another of my watercolor paintings where Poser was used as a virtual 'model'. I only needed the pose and the lights. ( I may not have internet connection for a little while, so I may not be able to comment on critque group postings, sorry)

Very good! It s also nice to see the original posed model, and your interpretation of that figure. DO keep up the good work. DPH

As usual, you reveal your "wild" side in your watercolors. The shapes around her are a very good concept. As a personal preference, i would like to see the shapes following some kind of clear pattern around her, like in spiral or something. But that would be me, your "wild" side wouldnt let you do it. :-) The only thing I really dont like is her face. It looks an unfinished sketch, not coherent with the rest. It seems you suddenly got bored of the picture and stopped working on it. The BG seems some kind of swirl, atracting the shapes, i think it would be interesting if her pose or dress would reveal also some kind of atraction to the swirl. Very good!

What an awesome swirl of color overall. Since this is a finished painting I don't expect you can change it too much, but like Rutra I would have liked to see some more aggressive bend/twist on the character and the dress to flow with that swirl a little more. You can do some cool things with dynamic cloth by just moving or rotating the character at frame 30 in addition to setting the pose you want, makes the cloth flow and twist in very graceful ways.

I probably will come back to this image - it is only a small (11x11") painting, done under 'dead-line' conditions so probably does have a hurried look. More detailed face and better integration of the cloth and hair movement will occur then hopefully.

It's really intresting to see wht the model has grown into. The lower rt of the cloth seems strange to me in your painting. I see where it came from, but it still looks strange to me. It's difficult for me to say more about it, it's not my favorite kind of picture. After a while I may getting more out of it.

I like this a lot. But like Rutra, my left brain wants to see something more coherent in the swirling pattern. I think the painting lost a little of the dynamicism of the arm pose of the figure, probably because of your deadline. It will be good to see what you do when you come back to it.
