Description

"Art is not only about angst." ~ John Corigliano

...but it makes for great subject matter. ;') I kind of like the symbolism of this image -- the road ahead not being easy, but leading ever upward. In postwork I wanted to retain the look of a photo yet at the same time give it an almost illustrative quality. It is a tough balance to acheive. ------

I really like this. There are so many elements in this shot that I keep having to go back and have another look. The child sitting on the bottom step really leads you into the picture. Great piece of b&w photography. Well done! Eileen xx

This pulls at my heart. Would love to hug the little guy. Your technique adds a kind of atmosphere...the lighting and color...that highlights the angst. Excellent. The worst playground angst I had was from the boys sneaking up on the girls and dropping big, black, hairy caterpillars down their blouses, then smashed them on their backs. Gee, what angst that was! You had to be like Linda Blair on the playground. LOL! Hugs, Suzanne

Good subject, and aptly carried through to match your idea. The shadows are kind of like black water caustics on the sand, which gives the whole thing a rather dreamlike quality. I don't know: To me it's got French New Wave writ all over it.
