Description

"Art is not only about angst." ~ John Corigliano

...but it makes for great subject matter. ;') I kind of like the symbolism of this image -- the road ahead not being easy, but leading ever upward. In postwork I wanted to retain the look of a photo yet at the same time give it an almost illustrative quality. It is a tough balance to acheive. ------

As I am thinking what to write, I return to look at the image several times over again and with each revist feel that one thing keeps cropping up and bothering me and it is in the way it is composed. I am a firm believer in fulll frame images, but here I would make an exception. THe part that I keep focusing to is the upper half and the palm in the background. If we come down to the end of the palm and make our cut there, the image becomes tigher and the boy becomes the main focus of the picture, for right now he is part of the scene. Thank you for sharing. egmont
