After a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn
that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't always mean security
and you begin to learn
that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child
and you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is
too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down
in mid-flight
after a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone
to bring you flowers
and you learn that you really can endure
you really are strong
you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn
with every goodbye, you learn...

moving boxes still sit corner in the back room waiting waiting on me calling me to pull on the lids the covers to open them once more Again to dig out the past to go through Again magic marker scrawling on the side as my heart marked/scared forever Moving boxes unopened sitting by the fence in the alleyway

Yes, strong, lovely passionate words, but HappyDance, it is but one branch on the tree, and the tree must remain balanced. When balance is lost due to focused attention on one branch at the expense of others, that focus tends to become obsessive. We've all been there, haven't we? The irony here is that the obsession usually prevents that branch from reaching out as was intended. But natural balance allows all branches to find their rightful place, all on their own, as the universe intended.

we share a common dream... i believe we shall grow to live it. And this, too, is all I ask: 'To belong To be loved Above all the rest To have To know Beyond shadows of doubt' so true... so beautiful the words... i do not need money or shelter or wheels or food... these things I can myself provide. but to be loved and cherished as no other with kindness and the warmest smile I've ever seen... this is all I ask and it is my everything. sometimes I feel it is at hand... so close sometimes but I know today we shall all four find our way. Peace. ----------- To my friend, above: Balance is vital. Obesession is destructive. But to know that you are loved and accepted and desired First by the one you love, accept and desire is not a bad thing either. Wouldn't you agree? How does that desire to be equal with another in responding to and giving love equate to imbalance or obsession? Or is it obsessive to focus on anything so much and out of balance with all the factors present? One far smarter than I says that we can have all the love we ever desire because all love starts within ourselves. We can make all the love we want and/or need in our lives... it is a feat of magic. We need not fear a lack of love.
