Description

Captured 5/3/07, in the Pavilion of Wings, located on the lovely premises of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, which, incidentally, is adjacent to the University of Southern California and the LA Coliseum. And my ceaseless round robin odyssey continues, hopscotching from one subject matter to another, this time back to the beautiful butterfly. Yesterday's post a handsome helicopter, today one of nature's own lovely aircraft. Have yourselves a splendid day!

I like the segue from helicopter to butterfly. And what a gorgeous butterfly this is! Just look at those shimmering purple diamonds against the black. Such an extravagant color scheme! This is quite beautiful, mon cher ami!

And I am still so envious of your little trip to the butterfly sanctuary - something I must try to do soon as I am beginning to get a few odd looks chasing butterflies down the local footpath in an endeavour to capture one (unsuccessfully!) This one has such wonderful colours and patterns and you have captured those really well for us all to enjoy - I prefer this type of aircraft to the man-made sort though, so you have put a smile on my face dear Harry!! xx

This butterfly has such interesting coloration that you don't typically see in our Midwestern butterflies. Great shot and thanks for sharing. Oh... and I can completely relate to the round robin approach to subject matter.

A lovely butty with great depth of field. In a field. Add some daisies and it would be perfect!
