Description

The elegant Zebra Longwing (state butterfly of Florida), absorbed in its daily task of nectar gathering. Captured 5/3/07, in the Pavilion of Wings, located on the lovely premises of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, which, incidentally, is adjacent to the University of Southern California and the LA Coliseum. Y'all have an ultra pleasant weekend!

The composition on this one is particularly pleasing, and I love the POV showing both the top and bottom of the wings. The light is just right - everything is bright enough to see all the details, and nothing is over exposed. A technical and artistic success! Beautiful image.

Simple patterned b'fly feeding an gorgous colored flower bunch. Very good capture, so bright and cheerfull shot, like a square crop too.

Well, after my little jaunt to a local butterfly jungle today, I now know just how difficult it is to get a good shot of one of these little creatures but you have succeeded with ease here Harry. Lovely details and composition and such wonderfully vibrant colours. Great shot indeed. xx
