Description

After two litters of unwanted wild kittens were born at the stable where I board my horse, my daughter and I rushed to find homes for them. My daughter took three, I took one, and we finally found homes for all of them. Unfortunately, most kittens (as well as other unwanted pets and horses) end up being killed because there are no homes for them. Here in Michigan, in Genessee County alone, 1000's of litters of kittens and puppies are automatically put to sleep because people will not or can not pay to have their pets spayed or neutered. Unwanted horses usually ended up in slaughter houses - now, because of the ban on exporting horsemeat - people are leaving their horses to die of starvation. For some reason, people believe they can treat their pets as throw-aways. So sad. Thank you so much for your comments. Sorry I am on a soapbox tonight. Mythic Wings by Arki at RDNA. Background by me.

Beautifully done and they need an angel to look after them. I belong to so many Anti-cruelty Societies (No kill) it isn't funny. What I can't understand is most places have a free clinic to have your pets fixed and if you can't keep pets take them to a no kill shelter. They will find homes for them. As far as being on a soapbox on this subject, you go girl! :o)

It is truly a sad state of affairs, and a rather sick mentality humans have of putting themselves above all other life. This work is pretty damn amazing, I would definately say one of your best- and certainly a piece worthy of hanging in a gallery! Strong motivation yields the most powerful imagery.

Everyone should have a friend to watch over them, especially the most helpless in our world. Very moving.

You brought tears to my eyes, I completely understand what you are talking about. Our Rat Terrier (of 11 wonderful years) was going to be put down because he was not of "SHOW" or "BREEDING quality. He had an overbite and was a little bow legged. We also have a 3 legged cat that was "droped off to go wild" He is a fantastic loving cat. Sorry I'm getting off the box too. This is wonderful and I wish I couls give you a 100.

A sad sad story what men are doing to animals all over the world. What p****s me most is the fact that very often the wealthy do not care to spend money for their pets while the poor save their money to pay a vet. All these things you report are legally forbidden over here but they still happen. Great and powerful angel.

She can mother me any 'ol time! ;=D Nice image, Drifterlee! DO keep up the good work. DPH PS: I wish I could feel more compasion for this issue, but liveing with Hamas terror and its Kassam rockets, scuds from Iraq, and Katushas from Lebanon, not to mention suicide bombers, my heart has become somewhat hardened. Sorry.
