Description

After two litters of unwanted wild kittens were born at the stable where I board my horse, my daughter and I rushed to find homes for them. My daughter took three, I took one, and we finally found homes for all of them. Unfortunately, most kittens (as well as other unwanted pets and horses) end up being killed because there are no homes for them. Here in Michigan, in Genessee County alone, 1000's of litters of kittens and puppies are automatically put to sleep because people will not or can not pay to have their pets spayed or neutered. Unwanted horses usually ended up in slaughter houses - now, because of the ban on exporting horsemeat - people are leaving their horses to die of starvation. For some reason, people believe they can treat their pets as throw-aways. So sad. Thank you so much for your comments. Sorry I am on a soapbox tonight. Mythic Wings by Arki at RDNA. Wonderful render, the water looks amazing! Great message too. I didn't know you were in Michigan. My hubby and I are from there. Bear Lake and Interlochen (up near Traverse City). I miss it terribly, will be settling there after hubby retires. Can't wait. :o)

Kudos to you for such a wonderful dedi ! I could go on and on about this heartbreaking and disheartening subject, but time doesn't allow...over my life I've taken in so many stray animals and our current canine friend came from the safe animal shelter...it's the least I can do, and kudos, again, for you doing the same Cruelty on any level, whether to humans or animals, is inexcusable and please do step on this soapbox anytime !

Great render and even greater thought behind it. Have special feelings in this area as my current friend is a parti-eyed husky that was a rescue case, as well as the timber wolf that was my companion for 13 years. We must leat to love and care for all of the creators creatures great and small

After comments on the forums today, I looked in the galleries and stumbled onto this image. I love it for many reasons. After working for the ASPCA, and rescuing over 10 cats and 2 dogs ourselves ... I can relate to this piece. The artistic quality would carry the beauty alone. But the message did it one better. Thank you, I wished I had thought of it first. ;)
