He experienced some success for many years, but after WWI and rising sugar prices, Pespi-Cola company declared bankruptcy (1923). Caleb Bradham returned to his pharmacy ... and faded into obscurity. If he only knew what a giant his little company has become. A photo of the wall of an old carriage house, with some eclectic decor in an out of the way spot. For a vintage sign, that Pepsi arrow is looking pretty good, much better than the lighthouse is faring. This photo is dedicated to Doug (unstrung65), who likes this sort of image. ------

Ya know, I have not paid any attention to Pepsi until just this last year. Always a Coke fan (I'm from Texas...what would you expect?). But I do love old signs and the eclectic look. Great shot.

A great shot and such great jingles. I love Pepsi, but only if it's got a lot of bacardi in it and plenty of ice!!

Did you know Pepsi is commonly used by wooden boat owners to clean off mold from their decks, while Coke is used to clean blood off highways, lol. Both are evidently very corrosive substances because of the carbonated water in them. Also, Coke was originally green...and 7up was named so because it was originally sold in 7oz cans. That's quite a far cry from the barrel-sized things they push on you at Mickey D's...lol. Nice dedi, Kortalouie.-M :^)

Outstanding. Love old seaport decor.

I try to get these type of shots, just a small area of something interesting. Mine never come out how I see it in my mind. This is a great show of how it is suppose to look. Well done.

I remember looking for empty pop bottles to exchange for a Pepsi and candy bar. the price was 5 with 2 c deposit.when they went to 8c and 2 c deposit. I had to look for more bottles

Wonderful capture and interesting narrative to accompany it. So, after almost a century of corporations singing the praises of their soft drinks, research now shows that these cola beverages raise havoc with your stomach, the stuff being so invasive that it's used to loosen rusted nuts and bolts.
