"Woodman, spare that tree! Touch not a single bough! In youth it sheltered me, And I'll protect it now." ~ George Pope Morris
Many trees in Boca Raton have scarred limbs such as this due meticulous pruning to keep our city neat and attractive. But even more scars result from felled limbs caused by the hurricanes that blew through in 2005. Boca is only now starting to look like it did before that busy year. We were lucky in 2006 and are doing good so far this season. Knock on wood. ((underlined words are links)) ------

This really had me fooled at first. I thought it was a shot of the legs of someone wearing ragged dark pants, with strange patches sewed on. Anyway, terrifc lighting and textural effects in this fine composition.

That tree looks as though it has had lots of goes at growing, amazing. Lovely shot.

Fascinating tree! Sometimes I wish I could sit below a tree like this and listen to it tell me stories. I'll bet it has some doozies. Wonderful photograph, Kort. I love the IR that brings the detail to the forefront. Very interesting POV. Hugs, Suzanne

Dang! This is soooo cooool!! Love this! Looked like some kind of alien 'thing' when I first saw it but now I see it's a tree trunk in IR. Excellent.

man and nature, to take the free flowing organic will and enforce upon it the straight and rigid lines of his will (so many mistake that as the will of God) stunning, I could spend the day in your gallery easily
