Description

Upload: 024 H Title: Beauties random juxtaposition Series: Recycling, paint buckets Location: Marin Recycling Center, San Rafael, California Date: July 9, 2007 Image: N05946M1cs Camera: Nikon D70, Full Frame Commentary: I wish to thank all of you who commented on 1-800-424-LEAD, as it is not an easy task to find complimentary words when it comes to refuse. Though we are still on the subject of recycled paint cans, this image is a one of a thousand, a term originating from the movie Winchester 73, 1950, in which James Stewart tries to win a rifle that is considered perfect. In relationship to this image, I use the term one of a thousand, believing that this photograph, which in some ways resembles the artist Jackson Pollock’s 1950 painting ‘ Lavender Mist’ contains properties of perfection as an abstract. If the photograph were enlarged and printed to be 6 x 9 feet (1.8288 x 2.7432 m) or even larger and displayed in a huge room where it would be given ample space to breath, the impact upon the viewer would be commanding. Currently I am in the middle of working on five large oil paintings on canvas, as I find myself in a flurry of creativity, but I shall look in on your gallery before my next upload. Please recycle, it works!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and commenting. Vielen danke das sie die Zeit genommen haben meine Arbeit zu betrachten und darauf zu Kommentieren. Egmont

I find this a very calm and serene abstract. The shapes created by the cans are fairly even and level and the colours are of a very limited palette with just the right amount of RGB to provide some points of extra interest. Excellent!

Hi Egmont, Currently I'm decorating my house, if the weather allows me. At the end of this project I might have a heap of empty drums available for you; LOL!! But more serious, I like your series "abstracted recycled paint drums" your composition are typical Egmont quality, what means excellent!! Having worked for over 25 years in the paint industry, and stopped very recently with working, its a special demension for me!! (stopping with working means in practice that I have to work hard around the house to catch up with delayed maintenance ......... Have a very nice day Henk

Good Day to you, Dear Egmont, A superb abstract. On first seeing the thumbnail, my immediate reaction to it was that it was indeed a painting I see a tree gracefully draped on the right hand side. It is wonderful work, you have the artists eye. I am so happy to hear you are in creative mood. I hope we might get to see the oils on canvas works when they are completed. Have a beautiful day, my dear friend. Hugs. Diane.

I find you "found object" works truly pieces of Art. I think they would look amazing large, hanging on a gallery wall. Or hanging on my wall as far as that goes.

Shades of Lavendar Mist, but truly it's own work. I would love to see a room size print of this. Innovative work, I am glad to hear the creative juices are flowing!

Glad to hear you're painting, as well. Another wonderful addition to this series, Egmont. I agree, seen large scale, I believe this would be an image of great impact and visual strength.

This is a wonderful abstract piece of art Egmont. And I know you never move objects for your photography which is why this is even more special just how the lay of the paint cans appear so evenly lined up. A lovely splash of minimalistic colouring to add extra depth and dimension. Excellent work my friend - keep creating whilst you have the "bug" for it!! Hugs. xx

Fascinating series. The recycling industry is such a scam, it's nice to see something of value extracted from it!

This has beautiful form, and creating art is something you do so well. Being a fan of both Pollack and Egmont, I do hope you are going to show us some of those paintings! I wait..... :)
