Description

Another "doodle that took on a life of it's own", and considering the subject, it somehow makes sense. She is my take on The Bride of Frankenstein (originally portrayed by Elsa Lanchester in the 1935 film). The whole thing was inspired by a lunchtime debate about horror movies, and which ones really are classics. That little discussion carried on for about a week... and all the while this young lady took shape. I almost felt like standing up and shouting "It's alive... ALIVE!" when she was done, but figured the rest of the people that work in the building who don't know me (other than seeing my "long haired weirdo" self running about) would probably call for the men with the white coats and long arms that tie in the back to cart me off to the local insane asylum... I tried to stay with a monotone coloring job on her since it was in keeping with the character being from a black and white film, but thought she needed a little bit of warming up (hence the use of the warm grey and french grey tones). Drawn on Beinfang 90lb acid free paper and rendered with Prismacolor Design Markers. Thanks for stopping by and having a look, and thanks to everyone who has left comments on my recent work... they are very appreciated. Comments, crits, and bad movie reviews are welcome.

Only two comments? That's a shocking injustice. Anyhow, the pic itself is bang on. It reminds me more of a 60's Munsters style image but the original inspiration is self evident. You know, this would be a superb tattoo design.
