Description

This is my attempt at re-creating the book cover for Stray by Rachel Vincent. It's a great book, somewhat in the same vein as Kelley Armstrong if you've ever read any of her stuff. I was going to scan in the book cover and link to it here in this post, but my scanner seems to have just died on me, so you'll have to go to Amazon to check out the cover (or search for it on your own if you'd prefer of course) It can be found here: http://www.amazon.com/Stray-Rachel-Vincent/dp/0778324214 Had to tweak the shirt materials to get it to come out the right shade of red and to lose the lace sleeves and then had to try my hand at postworking in the bloody claw marks on her back. I'm not at all sure what would be the best way to manage that, but I used a few different shades of reds and blacks/greys with the colored pencil setting to get to here. I'd be way open to suggestions on how to better do it. Thanks for the recent comments on my photos. John CREDITS =========== Outfit Shirt - Pretty3D Outfit Pants - DAZ Hair - DAZ (Sapphire Fox I think, though I'm not sure now.) Pose - it's not mine, though I tweaked it some. Tried out so many I can't recall whose it is) Lighting - hmann's light magic, though I tweaked that as well. BG - DAZ

Oops...and I see turning off the sleeves left a few holes on them now...oh well. Maybe I'll fix it, maybe I won't. LOL

Blood can be a tricky effect, but here is a tutorial if you are interested- it's for Photoshop, but the same basis can be applied in PSP I would think: http://www.bluesfear.com/tutorials/Blood.htm and here's another: http://www.newtutorials.com/creating-realistic-blood-in-photoshop.htm
