Description

I don't usually like to include roads in a landscape shot, at least not as feature. The road up Glen Nevis is different. Each car I past gave me a smile and a wave, it snakes its way to the end of the glen and thats it, a dead end and a carpark. Everyone driving up the glen is there to get out and enjoy the place its self, no other reason than to experience the lovely Glen Nevis in all its glory. I love this place. I first came here over 30 years ago cycling up and down Scotland and stayed in the youth hostal. We climbed Ben Nevis, swam in the river Nevis and cycled up to the end of the glen before cycling all the way to Garamore near Skye. *sigh* Each time I return I'm brought back to that highlight of my first holiday on my own (without my parents). Discovering this special part of Scotland for the very first time. *sigh* Thanks for viewing

I have notice that your part of the world is most incredible. You can see that it was not an easy feat creating this landscape. The earth had to work hard to form these mountains, hills, dales, valleys and lakes. Its a powerful thing to see the end result and you have done well capturing it in this photo.

I think we all have those special places in our lives that are reserved for our "Rocking Chair Days".....when we no longer can do the things we were once so capable of doing...we can sit back and smile when we see these type images and remember when...What a grand scene here, and one that will be forever burned into your brains hard drive! Lovely shot Anthony~ Aloha~

What a place this is! Lovely shot and with such meaning it's even better... I'd love to have something like this in my back yard but.... yeah... Awesome photography and a nice bit of personal history to go with it really adds some special meaning to it. Superb photography mate!

Beautiful landscape - and the meandering road adds to the picture - even more so after reading your notes. Excellent capture!

A very atmospheric shot, Anthony. I was surprised one summer some years ago ( on the Oban to Mull ferry ) to be able to pick out a snow summited Ben Nevis. No mist, no rain, and a dolphin off to port just to add jam to it. Regards, John.
