I wasn't sure which genre to put this under, I thought about "creatures" and even "horror" or what about "science fiction" and calling it "Cujo"?
Anyway I finally plumped for "animals".
Driving back up from Wales on a very hot Sunday afternoon we pulled into a motorway transport stop and parked next to a pick up with this beast hanging out the back. Gallons of stringy drool were pouring out its enormous gub.
I asked the guy if I could take a picture and he was only too pleased to let me. In fact he quickly gave the drooling gub a clean which was a shame because it was so utterly disgusting it would have made a great photo.
I took the picture and thanked the man and asked him how much the thing weighed...
"oh 70 odd Kilos last time we got him on the scales....must be up to about 80 by now!!!
Perhaps I should've put it under the genre ""mythology"!

A lovely big dug indeed, Anthony. I was shopping in deepest darkest Lanarkshire the other day fior my mum, and had just navigated all the way from Iceland ( ;0) ), when what did I spy but a hulking big St Bernard in the pedestrian precinct. Unfortunately I could not see a wee keg of fortified spirits hanging from its collar. The big beastie was sitting in state, in front of a wee lassie ( aged about eight years I would have said ) with two Afghan hounds guarding it on either side, as if it was an ambassador from Isle of Dogs. Luckily all the meat I had in my bags was frozen. Regards, John.
