Description

This little guy... okay, not so little guy (he is about 4 1/2 inches long) was hanging around outside of the side door at work today. Couldn't resist grabbing a couple of shots of him. Funny thing was that after the first shot, he looked over his shoulder as if to say "Can I help you?" (either that or he want to try out for being the next Praying Mantis supermodel). Shot with my Olympus E-300, 50mm Macro lens, ISO 100, 1/1250th of a second exposure at f3.2. Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Comments and crits are welcome as always.

Great find and capture. As a kid, I was freaked out by the way these critters could and would turn their heads. It just seemed wrong that a bug could turn his head and stare at you, lol. Now I find it perfectly natural and have noticed that Dragonflies and Damselflies do the same thing. Thanks for sharing this great portrait. Lee
