"Never shoot into the light"!
Oh yeah?
Took this shot as an experiment. I adjusted the camera settings to something that I thought just might capture something. Then with a quick glance at the LCD screen, rather than the eye-piece, to avoid blindness, took this single shot. I was expecting a white-out and when I could finally see again, I was quite suprised with the result.
I really wouldn't recommend anyone trying this as it can result in severe eye damage.
Shot taken last month whilst stood on the harbour wall at Whitby, North Yorkshire coast. Apart from the quick frame there is absolutely no postwork in this.
Thanks for looking!

Now I told you that this one was good when you showed me it last week. I just love breaking the rules but never seem to get away with it, but this.... this is just stunning. How you have managed to retain the gorgeous blue sky and all of the details in the clouds is amazing - I take my Mate off to you Carl. Brilliant!! Hugs x♥x
Janiss

LOL I could feel my pupils constrict when I opened this. You should have warned us to put our sunglasses on, lol. Great capture. Weren't you worried about damaging your cam? I know you're not supposed to shoot the sun because you can damage your eyes...but I thought it would also damage the cam. Anyway, glad you didn't...apparently. Cracking shot.-M :^)

Sometimes, I think the results of breaking the rules can surprise us! This is quite wonderful, so break away! I am viewing this on newly plugged in 20 inch screen, and like Margana, I wished I'd had sunglasses close by!

Excellent render of this sky , and superb shades of blue ! 5+++

Great shot! It really does look bright. Nice work! I, too, thought it would damage the camera to shoot directly into the sun. I'm pretty sure my manual (which I still haven't finished!) said it could be bad news, but of course I could easily be wrong!
