Description

On the trip to Lake Titicaca the train stops at a rather surreal place called La Raya - which is the highpoint of the pass at around 4200m above sea level. So i took the opportunity to do some "bothering" as my travelling companions started to call it when i was taking pictures... in this instance i was "Train Bothering". I say surreal because there is nothing else in sight and only really one track. No reason for a station to be there really. For those who are interested in wildlife photography i might have a few treats (touch wood) when i get back from Manu Wildlife Reserve here in Peru... I just took my other week off and am travelling down to the jungle where i will be visiting "that" macaw salt/clay lick you see on the wildlife documentaries and i do beleive someone won a bbc wildlife photographer of the year prize/place with a photo of the very same place. That and apparently the place has the highest concentration of birdlife on the planet. Guess who is a happy snapper this week!? Anyway, Thanks for stopping by to take a look. Rich

Great pic for all the train buffs. If the track was laid in the 19th century, the station was probably a rest stop for the engines. Looks like you are having a great time in Peru.

This is excellent (not sure how I missed it, sorry!). Angle, POV, crop, colours - all spot on.
