Description

This is a very segmented hike. The first 1100 feet or so of gain is a very easy stroll through the forest. At about 4800 feet, the trees end abruptly and the real climbing begins. This shot of Mt Hood to the south was taken just as the trees started to open up. You can see that the valleys were still filled with morning fog, and there is a layer of clouds above us. But at this level, it's quite pretty. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

You may say that the valley is filled with fog, but I call that a cloud sea, and it's so fascinating to watch it boiling and churning. (Yes, I have seen a mountain before, lol) This is such a breathtaking view! I know I am going to really enjoy this hike :)
