Description

I had always wanted to see the stilt fishermen in Sri Lanka so we got a tuk tuk early evening time to visit them. It was really great to see but I was a little disappointed with the lighting because the light was illuminating their backs and not their faces. I was not really inclined to wade out in the water and ask them to face the other way!!!! Anyway, this is not the most brilliant photo I have ever taken because of the lighting situation but I thought you might like to see something not often seen anymore. Have a great Wednesday and thank you all so much for your kind comments on my last upload. Hugs Eileen xx

I've not heard of stilt fishing til now. Wow, that's quite an unbelievable sight. Inspite of the lighting, this is still a great pic. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastique photo! Cela ne fait rien qu´il ne soit pas face à la camera, on voit bien son visage de profil! Très bien la vague dans l´image...

Nonsense, it is a good capture. Besides, you were there and saw it, which more than most of us can claim. I am sure that it has happened to many of us: we get to a destination only to find that you are pressed by time, the light is at its worse, is under construction, etc. You just have to take the picture anyway because in the end, a crappy picture is better than a thousand words.

You did get a good image from this idea, especially the piles of surf behind which is very unusual

I can't see anything wrong with this, you captured the moment and thats what its all about. Love the white horses golloping up behind him. I don't know how they can spend all the time that they do sat perched like that. Excellent work, worth taking and posting. Bravo!!!!!

Just think, lighting might not have been as you would have liked it, but then there is that little bit of mystery as to the details of his facial expression. Never the less the over all compositioin and the stilts in contrast to the possitioning of the fishing rod add wonderful movements. Thank you for sharing. egmont

Excellent shot! The lighting came out very well... a most unique shot and what a precarious position for the fisherman to be in!

the waves makes up for lack of lighting on his face. really an awesome seascape. the first time I seen fish farms out in the middle of the bay in the Filipines, I was in awe of their ingenuity as these enterprising fellows
