Description

I had always wanted to see the stilt fishermen in Sri Lanka so we got a tuk tuk early evening time to visit them. It was really great to see but I was a little disappointed with the lighting because the light was illuminating their backs and not their faces. I was not really inclined to wade out in the water and ask them to face the other way!!!! Anyway, this is not the most brilliant photo I have ever taken because of the lighting situation but I thought you might like to see something not often seen anymore. Have a great Wednesday and thank you all so much for your kind comments on my last upload. Hugs Eileen xx

Whewww...splendid!!!! I think perhaps that you, being you, are a little too critical of the lighting in this shot, Eileen. It lends a certain something to this capture though, don't you think? And gosh, can't seem to rip my eyes from those waves breaking in the distance...:)

Holy mack'l, if those aren't clouds at the top then that must be a tsunami bearing down on you and the enterprising fisherman. Fabulous composition, clarity, lighting and textural effects in this fabulous capture, Sis!

I like the lighting. Not your traditional photo, but I think more expressive then a tradtional type photo would have been. I think there's more drama here, more atmosphere. And the waves .. WOW! And there's even some reflections! Geez, it's got everything!!

I have not heard of this either. What an excellent shot of interest, with all the angles and portrait of this man so intent. (I don't think I would try this "at home" ;) Thanks for bringing us some information as well as a captivating image.

I totally have to disagree, Eileen. I think this is brilliant. It would have been so different if he was looking at you. The lighting is wonderful, too, to my eyes. Perfect composition...the verticals and diagonals make this a very dynamic image and the soft horizontals of the waves balance them perfectly. Sorry but I say it's...BRILLIANT. So thbbbbbt, lol. -M :^)
