I'm a software engineer by day. I spend my time pushing ones and zeros around, which is not as easy as it sounds. They're slippery little devils.BIOI discovered fractals in the mid 80's with Fractint on what must have been a 25 MHz processor. Around 2001 I upgraded all the way from 400 MHz to 1.8 GHz, and thought about making fractals again. I discovered Fractal Explorer, and later XenoDream. These days I use mostly XD and MBF, with an occasional image from ChaosPro and Quasz, since I've always loved quaternions.
For my photography I use a Canon 30D. My primary lenses are a Canon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 EF DO IS USM and a Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS USM.

What a disappointment that after all that hard work climbing to the top that you didn't get a peek into the crater. But you are to be congratulated for making it to the top...not many of us can say that. So three cheers for Dennis!!

And saying that will be a wonderful thing!!!!!!! Yeah, you did it!!!!! Eureka!!!

Congratulations on all you achieved. I feel sorry that you weren't able to see the crater, but look at what you were able to do and see that almost none of us could do. Bravo, Dennis!

King of the Mountain! Congrats and thank you for taking us up this incredible mountain. It is a treat. It is always good to take a break and re-energize your self for the descent as it can be very difficult. Excellent job. Aloha

Out for a bit of a stroll I see. Neat shot and yes, you can always say you've done it. I probably never will. ;']

Whoa... now that's socked in! Ok, what was so important to be lugging those big packs all the way up that mountain???
Cosine
@Viv, Hey, that's my stuff! Gotta have my stuff with me. Let's see.. A lot of what's in everyone's packs is water, almost certainly some Gatorade or equivalent, some high-energy snack food, and lunch. I always carry my Canon 30D, at least one extra lens, filters, cleaning stuff, spare memory, spare batteries, and a tripod. Gee, I wonder why I was tired... Also light jackets and hats, and rain gear. First aid stuff, of course. For this trip, we all had those white breathing filters that painters wear, because of the nasty sharp dust. We didn't use them, fortunately. You know, stuff. :-)

Excellent accomplishment! Shame about being socked in, but I guess not all climbs are perfect...

congratulations! You look as if you are on top of the world ....holy smokes! I had to laff at your comment to Viv "you know, stuff" LOL .. Though my son has never climbed mountains that huge, he does like to hike and climb and I know he has hoardes of stuff in his backpack ... makes me tired just lifting it much less carrying it .....I bet you have a strong back L
