Description

"Dedicated to the memory of two fallen towers." ~~~~~

Another infrared photo with my Sony P200. I bought two of them already modified (modded) from fellow member zep addict. He removed the internal cut filter (that blocks most of the IR and UV wavelengths) from both of them, and with this one attached a B+W 92 filter via an external thread mount so I can actually switch filters if I so desire. It allows me to take handheld infrared photos with a false color scheme (as opposed to black and white). With an unmodded camera you are looking at longer exposures (think tripod), sensor noise issues and lens hot spots. My other P200 has the filter internal and it cannot be swapped without disassembling the camera. It has more restrictive filter that blocks all visible light and only allows the infrared to pass. It also has the bonus feature of looking like a normal camera -- stealth IR! Like last time, once I downloaded the photo from the camera, I swapped the red and blue channels in Photoshop to approximate a more normal (I use the term loosely) color scheme. Levels and saturation were adjusted -- this time a bit more as the original file was a littler dark and flat. The photo was resized and sharpened and the frame/sig added. To find out more about the Bok Tower, please click HERE {---link. For those of you with sharp eyes, you can see the wrought iron gate from a previous image towards the bottom left (by the fencing). ------

Utterly utterly! Everything fabulous...the detail, contrast, foliage, sky, tower... What a fantastic capture, with an excellent POV and elegant infrared effects, not to mention the several mechanical and Photoshop options you chose to perfect this image.

An excellent image of the Singing Tower. I've always thought that it was beautiful, and your IR shot just reinforces that notion. Great work as always Kort.
