Description

Australia has an average elevation of just 330 metres above sea level, This shot is taken from White Rocks, 550 metres above sea level looking out to the east coast, two hours into our trip on the Great Dividing Range....The Range stretches 3500 kilometres from the north eastern tip of Queensland down into western Victoria. It divides the eastern coast of Australia from the western inlands and coast. It's highest point above sea level is 2228 metres which is Mt Kosciuszko...skiing heaven.... We stopped here for 1/2 an hour or so to check the radiator, have a drink and so I could get pics. Richard, petrol and diesel is readily available at reasonable prices all the way along our trip as it's a major truck route for supplies out to the west for townships, mining, along with sheep and beef cattle for our markets and export....
