I'm a software engineer by day. I spend my time pushing ones and zeros around, which is not as easy as it sounds. They're slippery little devils.BIOI discovered fractals in the mid 80's with Fractint on what must have been a 25 MHz processor. Around 2001 I upgraded all the way from 400 MHz to 1.8 GHz, and thought about making fractals again. I discovered Fractal Explorer, and later XenoDream. These days I use mostly XD and MBF, with an occasional image from ChaosPro and Quasz, since I've always loved quaternions.
For my photography I use a Canon 30D. My primary lenses are a Canon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 EF DO IS USM and a Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS USM.

Your picture of it is a lot better than the ones that I took (of course, your camera is a lot better than mine which helps). I agree with you though, for all of its fame, this geyser isn't nearly as impressive as some of the others there in the park close to it. The blue sky sure makes a pretty backdrop for your picture.

Wow! ya couldve said that was a rocket blasting off & I would've believe you :) A awesome capture of old faithful :) Well done mate...

Great shot of this predictable geyser. I find myself thinking about all the ferocious activity way down below! And I wonder if this whole area will some day erupt super violently.

I don't know about you but I'm all excited viewing this image. This baby has a lot of potential power underneath and is blowing off some steam. Very impressive shot. Thanks for sharing. Aloha

Old faithful is just that .....Old and Faithful G Maybe after all your travels it seems boring in comparison? I've never seen anything like it, so to me it's wonderful ....all that power ... woahhhh! and to think of the lil men in the earth that have to keep tending to it to give the visitors a visual LOL

Wow, thats spectacular! When I first looked at the thumb I thought it was an explosion (well, man made), but this is much better! Very nice capture:)

I kind of have that same feeling. Perhaps it's the overexposure. (Of the event, of course! Your photo is perfect!) Anything with that much advertising and hype leaves me sort of cold.

Reliability seldom connotes excitement :P I go to the website to see this occasionally, it's nice to see a different viewpoint. If it wasn't for the reliability of this geyser, there would not be a website and I would never see a geyser at all, so I must be grateful for small things, lol. :)

Very interesting shot of that geyser!

Oh dear, I can never get tired of teh wonders of these geyers. I always think about what is causing this steam to vent like that. We have a geyers here as well and it erupts on schedule. When I go, I take a lunch and stay to watch as many eruptions as possible before driving home. Your shot is excellent. It still has a fresher approach than many I have seen.

Thar she blows!!!!! WOW what a stunner ... i remember this faintly as i was only four years old when i saw it .... and, waiting in anticipation for it ... excellent capture!!

With the wonderful sights you have witnessed I guess a spew of water/steam seems less than magnificent ... But your capture of this geyser shows that you can portray all the majesty Old Faithful can generate. Bravo!

WOOOOOOOOOWWW Good Old Faithful, still working!!, at its best. Excellent capture of my good old friend. For me it was the firsttime in my live to see an geyser active, I was really exited by it!! That it erupts so regulary makes it to me very interesting, its almost like an old clock, more or less on time ......... BTW I like your Yellowstone series very much!! Have a very nice evening Henk

What a surprise to hear that you were unimpressed. Still a really cool shot of this famous geyser!
