Description
It was her first party, and her mother made her the most beautiful dress. "Go and have a wonderful time my dear." She whispered in her ear before she climbed into the carriage. She felt like a princess as she rode down the cobble streets. Her heart fluttering wildly. the the carriage lurched to a stop, and the door opened. The footman reached out his hand she accepted it willingly and stepped on to the walk. Smoothing her dress down, she squared her shoulders and moved up the steps following the other guests.
She tried to act as though she had been to a million of these but she couldn't help but look around at all the beautiful men and women. Pausing near a window she spotted the host, a tall and handsome man. He turned his head and looked at her smiling. Then began to make his way towards her. She was excited and scared, and wished with all her heart she would remain calm.
