Taken last night on Main Street, downtown Memphis Tennessee. The last Friday night of each month all the trendy artsy-fartsy shops on South Main get together and throw a big neighborhood block party! A rather eclectic group gathers about too; everything from liberals sipping their Chardonnay to bikers guzzling some brew. Free wine and cheese can be found in most shops and a band or two will set up on the sidewalks. Not being bikers or liberals, Leah and I chose to consume our latest favorite Red which hails from South Africa called Sebeka. It's a Cabernet Pinotage, priced as all our favorite Reds are, under $20 dollars! It just so happens that our favorite radio station is also on South Main - WEVL. It's a commercial free all volunteer employee radio station that plays music you can't find anyplace else. So eclectic! Their specialty is Memphis and Memphis influenced music, but they also play rare tunes from all over the world. This is the neon sign in their window on South Main. There is a picture of this sign on their web site home page, but I dare to say I think this one beats it. I think I'll make it available to them. Speaking of their web site, they stream their programming live there, so if you are a true music lover you will want to check them out.
