Description
Captured 8/25/07 during the parade celebrating the 50th birthday anniversary of my city.
You wonder why the Mexican flag is on display in this American city? Well, the government and geography books haven't broken it to us yet, but, California, at least the southern part, is now part of Mexico, and that the American flag is just for show, like, just for old time's sake.
Incidentally, the one on the left is the California flag.
But I digress. I really like this photo for the magnificent steeds, especially the one in the middle, with their gorgeous manes. They look so elegant.
Oh yes, can't forget the gauchos, who look so distinguished in their traditional outfits.

You have to go to Sonoma to see the old hand made bear flag that appeared one Sunday and the Mexican flag was quietly withdrawn. That is how California ended the mission era and bcame civil.

Funny but I was going to comment on the middle horse. I'm not a fan of white horses but that one is exceptional. and so is this shot.
