Description

[best viewed full sized] (press F11 key for easier viewing) This shot was taken from inside the ruins of Ewloe Castle in North Wales a few weeks ago whilst out on a photo shooting trip with Crissy, aka BibbyBear, and it was Chrissy that jokingly named this pic, which kinda stuck. I'm having problems at the moment keeping my exif data once I have loaded my frame onto it, which I need to sort out, so for now I'll just include it in this narrative: Camera: Nikon D80 Shutter speed: 1/8 sec F number: 3.5 Focal length: 18mm ISO speed: 400 Some slight dodge and burn was used in postwork and a brief visit to Neat Image, but there is little difference from the original. Thanks for looking, any comments and critique are more than welcome!

I love pictures like this. Rough-hewn walls, well worn with time, colorless and dark inside but vivid green outside. Great shot. I think your lighting is perfect.

This is so great. The light and rock textures are terrific, and I really like the sense of 'escape' towards the outer world, even while I understand that 'in there' is its own world......... Nice one.

Well you know I just loved this one from the moment we viewed it on screen. With or without the minor postwork, this is an excellent shot and shows what a great eye for creativity you have. I'm pleased you chose to use the title - it's silly, but I still think it suits the capture (not that the capture is silly of course!!). Amazing textures in the old stonework of what is a rather unimpressive castle as a whole (as we discovered after the hike uphill to find it!!). You have shown a brilliant display of light and shadow and how the two play together beautifully when captured right and the DOF through the small window is great with some fantastic hues of the greenery beyond. Each week I watch as your passion grows and this is really beginning to show in your end results now - don't lose sight of that passion or creativity, capture the shots that inspire you as it did with this one. Excellent capture babe! Hugs Chrissy xox
