Description
Une fois par l´an â?? a une date trés compliquée du calendrier lunaire- l´ancienne Barge Royale sort en procession au Lac Inlé. Elle transporte quatre Boudahs spécialment sacrées, entourés de légendes miraculeuses.
Des milliers de gens viennent de toute la région pour participer à cette Procession Fluviale. Tout le monde la suit en bateau. Les Bateaux d´honneur, qui font partie du cortège de la barque, ont des dizaine ou des centaines de rameurs, tous en uniforme, remand avec le pied.
La cérimonie commence en pleine nuit, vers 5 heures du matin pour terminer les festivités, avec courses de barques vers 19 heures.
J´ai mis des années pour pouvoir voir cela- pas facile de faire coincider les dates. J´étais partagée entre mon émerveillement à faire des photos, debout sur la barque, en équilibre précaire, faisant des grandes signes au chauffeur du bateau pour tourner ici et là et l´emotion et ferveur de la céremonie.
Une de ces scènes que quand se termine, on pense : Ok, je peut mourrir maintenant !
One time by year - a very complicated date of the lunar calendar- The Old Royal Barge leaves in procession across Inlé Lake. The Barge transports four Boudahs, specialy holy, surrounded by miraculous legends.
Thousands of people come from all the area to take part in this River Procession. Everyone follows it in boat. The Boats of Honor, which belong to the procession of the boat, with dozen ou hundreds of oarsmen, all in uniform, rowing with the foot.
The cérimonie starts in middle of the night, around 5 am to finish the festivities, with race boats around 7 p.m.
I wait many years to see that, not easy to make coincided dates. I was divides my amazement to make photographs, upright on the boat, in precarious balance, making large signs to the driver of the boat to turn here and there and the emotion and magic modd of the ceremony.
One of these scenes that when finishes, you thinks: Ok, I can died now!

Spectacular! I can only imagine how heavy those barges must be...as that is not fake gold. I love the pomp and circumstance...this is one I would like to see for myself.
