My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Nice picture. I have a pear tree on the side of my house that must have grown from those inedible seeds. They start green and stay that way. I have bitten into them and they are not tasty. Now I know why they never get any better. Oh, but the squirrels love them! Todd

You don't 'Steal' fruit from trees it's called scrumping and it makes them taste better than bought ones. I remember going on holiday to Wales when about ten years old we were in a caravan but myself and a cousin were allowed to camp in a tent, when it got dark we slipped out of the tent and went scrumping apples in the farmers orchard. We each took a pillow case and filled them. we had a heck of a time carrying them back to the tent. Boy did we have bad stomachs for the rest of the week, I swear I was as green as the apples. I still love green apples though. Thanks for the memories Tara. Wonderful pear and interesting information. Bravo!!!!!

And that's a fact, jack! There are other fruit trees like that. That is why you pass an orchard and you see a massive trunk at the bottom of the tree and then it all of a sudden becomes smoother and a bit smaller... Its the graft. I have played with grafting and its not as easy as it seems but it sure can be fun. Lovely shot.
