Description

Captured 4/27/07, around 7:30 AM, somewhere within walking distance of my abode. Well, the day has arrived. A day I have long dreaded, where I had to select from among thousands of my photographs a superfragilistic standout shot as number 500 in my Renderosity postings. One of the memorable pinnacles of my existence! Decisions, decisions. It was hell on wheels to choose something for today. How do you pick from tons/tonnes of great stuff? Or at least I think it's great stuff. In any case, I played it conservatively for this event and opted for a rose, a species of flower which is one of the, if not the absolute main, favorites among the viewers. For any complainers, hey, I could have always given you one of my tortured daisy creations or some road kill instead, you know. I've attempted to provide an eclectic variety of photographic subject matter on Renderosity since joining on, with the knowledge that I can't please everyone, but you can't say I always show the same things; even the dahlias are different. I've made many wonderful, patient and tolerant friends, both foreign and domestic, in this continuing odyssey -- plus some enemies, but that goes with the territory. Now that I have reached this notable milestone, I can return once again to my daily devil-may-care choices of pics to post. Finally, thank you for your continued support, the atta boys, and uncritical comments. They are most appreciated and uplifting.

I did not realized Harry you have that many...500 pictures. I hope you will double a number in forth coming, because I find your gallery very entertaining and what is suround your present here on Rendo is quet something. I also surprise you have enemies!! You a funny "good ole guy" how can anybody clashing with you? Anyway, this bright colored rose in full bloom is a wonderfull choose I think for your celebration day.

Quite an occasion, indeed. Happy 500th, Harry. You marked it well with this lovely image. I have one just like this in my garden, ( well, not any more...it's too cold ), and you've captured it's color beautifully. LOL at all the friends and enemies. You are so right. I don't know, Harry, I may groan but your daisies are so very "you." This is a gorgeous rose, though, but be careful... you might get tagged as being a sensitive guy with such a gentle and wonderful photo. The petals are so sugary and have meat to them. The lighting makes it glow. Soon I will be in your place...I have no idea what I am known for and I'll have a bad time choosing a photo.

This, I presume, is the ordinal 500 obtained by counting but wishes to be seen as the cardinal 500th based on posting. As the earlier blooms fades and lose their petals the count can suffer. Not so the 500th which holds high it's head as an achievement.
