Description

It is a rare scene. It's difficult to see Buddhist nuns in the street, especially to the ritual of the quest for food in the morning. In other countries of the Theravada Buddhist tradition, the oldest (Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka), women, even when they live in a monastery did not religious status, as Burma. They are "Thendara" that move through the path of Dharma. In Burma they are religious and have their monasteries. The people wait at sunrise, with the food.

So, these nuns depend on the local people for their daily needs. This is a facinating image telling me much I did not know. Thanks very much for this photo.

Another great shot depicting the many esoteric traditions of countries forming the Asian continent. Your series, besides the excellent photography, has been most informative and enlightening. Well done, young lady!

Someplaces the question, "What's the bottom line." elicits no peril. I see the Dalai Lama is coming.
