I saw a beauty too today and I had my camera with me but by the time I got ready to snap, it had dissappeared. This is a lovely close encounter, the colours of the butty and the flower are wonderful, great capture. told you I was too slow lol.

Beautiful Nymphalis butterfly ! This species is indeed known to accomodote well in temperate climate ! "Small Tortoiseshell" The rating system has no meaning at all here in Rendo (but I always forget to turn it off !) Don't pay attention to the ratings, Didi... One particular comment (like e.a. the one I got yesterday from Geert-girsempa...) is worth much more than stars... Big kisses my dear Didi !

This is a great shot, and I love the fact that the detail is exquisite enough to show butterfly fuzz! That's always a plus since butterfly fuzz isn't the easiest thing in the world to capture!
