Description

HELLO ALL! OK i definately don't think of any of these as gallery worthy and not crazy about this quick collage BUT SO many of you have written and sent warm thoughts and well wishes I wanted to give you an update here . SO putting this little collage of shots up to let you know we are safe and our home is not burned . Luckily we are in an area that didn't get hit . But up on the hill many have lost their homes . This one family just finished remodeling last week and their home is a complete loss.. The huge hurricane type winds have finally died down ( about 13 mph rather then 70- 90 ) and they are getting it more under control here... but fires are still raging all over the state and President Bush is coming here tommorrow. California has right now the largest evacuation ever and around 1000's have lost homes. I think of all the animals and people homeless now and my heart and prayers go out to them today . Kids are finally back in school but not allowed to play outside as there is still a red flag alert due to smoke conditions that can effect health. Still looks like a hurricane hit the yard is a complete mess from the winds !!! These pics were taken from my pocket cam on Sunday night on my way to go pic up dinner from inside the car . ( taken in Canyon Country Cal - our fire was the fastest spread they said and one person died) They are not the best quality so I had to soften up the grain a little on them . IT was too crazy to think about getting out the tripod and gear and I knew the kids were worried about me being out . but putting them up cause so many of you wrote and reached out and I am blessed by your love and support so thought I would share this today and leave room for comments ... Love to you all!! ((( BIG hugs ))) ~ Kimmers ! :O) ~ ♥

I've been keeping you all in my prayers since your first photo, Kimmers. It is so tragic. There is an outpouring of help flowing in, as well as prayers. And, the attitude of many is so admirable. It is times like these that makes t he California Soul shine. Thanks for sharing your pictures and story with us, my dear. Hugs and love, Suzanne

I know you said you didn't think they were artistic bu there are 3 very artistically outstanding ones here (in my opinion anyway) - the one in the second row left with the sun, the one of the church steeple and smoke, and the one in the bottom row left. I don't know how you managed to stay calm enough to compose them so well - I would be freaking out big time. Please Stay Safe!!

I'm also glad to hear you and your family are safe, Kimarie! My heart goes out to all those who have lost their homes and to everyone who has had to evacuate. Such a tragic situation. My prayers are with you and your family that you remain out of harms way and that they can get the fires under control before more life is lost. Take care.

After watching the news over the past few days I had a feeling you and yours were okay. Really scary photos, though, with all that black smoke and all. What a firestorm! I live 18 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles, and didn't see any smoke when I looked out your way on Monday, but there definitely are smoke and haze on the horizon today. No ashes on the ground around here, though. I'm glad the winds slowed down, that was the worse element in all this, but it's still hot and dry.

Glad you are okay. I am here in Southern California as well, I was lucky no fires here. Just wind and all the smoke blowing here from the Lake Arrowhead area. I guess we are lucky to have stuff to clean up... (I posted a collage of wind damage, and what it looked like in my area.)

I'm really glad your home and family managed to miss the flames. Even here in New Zealand we have seen the dreadful fires on the TV and have seen the devastation the fires have caused. My thoughts are with you and I hope they get on top of the flames quickly.

I so happy to see you ok. I know a lot have to do with the laws that they can not clean up the underbrush there. so it will burn big time now. It like this every year it just in your area now. I hate for all these people to have lost all and some they lives. My home burn down one time and I lost all so I know how it is. Jesus helped me and I got back two times more of what I lost

I am so glad you and your family are okay. My store partner, RubyT, is in the area as well and has been telling me about a baby bear cub that was rescued and taken to the zoo. She's also been describing the inferno there. So horrific. Thank you for letting us know that you are all right as well. I so hope they get it all under control very soon. Bravo to the firefighters facing it each day and to those on the sidelines that support the firefighters.
