Description

HELLO ALL! OK i definately don't think of any of these as gallery worthy and not crazy about this quick collage BUT SO many of you have written and sent warm thoughts and well wishes I wanted to give you an update here . SO putting this little collage of shots up to let you know we are safe and our home is not burned . Luckily we are in an area that didn't get hit . But up on the hill many have lost their homes . This one family just finished remodeling last week and their home is a complete loss.. The huge hurricane type winds have finally died down ( about 13 mph rather then 70- 90 ) and they are getting it more under control here... but fires are still raging all over the state and President Bush is coming here tommorrow. California has right now the largest evacuation ever and around 1000's have lost homes. I think of all the animals and people homeless now and my heart and prayers go out to them today . Kids are finally back in school but not allowed to play outside as there is still a red flag alert due to smoke conditions that can effect health. Still looks like a hurricane hit the yard is a complete mess from the winds !!! These pics were taken from my pocket cam on Sunday night on my way to go pic up dinner from inside the car . ( taken in Canyon Country Cal - our fire was the fastest spread they said and one person died) They are not the best quality so I had to soften up the grain a little on them . IT was too crazy to think about getting out the tripod and gear and I knew the kids were worried about me being out . but putting them up cause so many of you wrote and reached out and I am blessed by your love and support so thought I would share this today and leave room for comments ... Love to you all!! ((( BIG hugs ))) ~ Kimmers ! :O) ~ ♥

I'd send "warm and breezy" greetings but I how about "cool and drizzly greetings" from the Bay Area are likely a more apropos and encouraging thought. It's warm and windy here but we luckily had some sprinkles last week and maybe we're spared this year. Best wishes for you and yours K! Ha, not the loveliest pictures you have ever posted - but that's not the point. You are also an excellent photojournalist and I have always wished 'rosity would have such a category to select. But it really doesn't matter because "Atmosphere/Mood" works here too! How about another sunset beach bride in high fashion, ...er... sumpthin'?

I'm glad you're ok Kimmie! Not to trivialise what's happening around you to have caused them, but the two bottom shots (IMHO) are strangely beautiful. A big hug from me. - Matt

Thanks for posting this ...I live just north of Sandiego near Los Angeles and We haven't lost our home but know many have. The smoke and debris is horrible and very hard to breath. Hopefully this will end soon. My Thoughts and prayers to my fellow Southern Californians.

This is a great tragedy, the fire it razes with all he doesn't forgive, him but lamentable of everything it is that people lose their personal goods and properties, many of them perhaps gotten with great sacrifice and effort. The images that you show us are really moving and Dantesque, let us hope the rain arrives to try to turn off so much uncontrollable fire. A strong hug, you have my support and my sentences, with the help of God we hope this soon finishes....!!! #:O)

i think these are dramatic shots, it may be that you are too close to the situation to see them as such. anyway, i hope that life will begin to return to normal for you very soon. reading about it today, the water-bombers are back in the air now that the wind has died down, and getting on target, which should help. best wishes from me also.
