Description
Captured 10/19/07 around 8:00 AM, about 1.8 miles from my domicile.
Since there are oodles of pine trees around town within walking distance, I've taken advantage of the situation by snapping countless photos of their erratically textured and tortuous bark, particularly in the early morning, when the low hanging sun casts long shadows upon the vista.
Better viewed full size.
Have a thoroughly terrific Thursday!

You took this photo at just the right time, to capture the texture so very well. Excellent shot!!

that's a very odd shot. The bark doesn't run vertical or horizontal but it runs a combination of both. One thing it is is bumpy. Lots of craggy areas and woody peaks in there. Excellent find and wonderful photo.

Interesting wave effect on a tree body created by the arrangment of the bark. Like a soft light color of the texture too.

What a wonderful texture this is! I love the swirling patterns in the bark, and you've gone out at just the right time of day to capture it perfectly.
