Description


Several shafts were sunk at Blists Hill in the late eighteenth century and operateduntil 1941. this shaft reached a depth of 183m(600ft) through varied seams of clay, coal and ironore. Coal and iron ore went to the blast furnaces, and clay crossed the canal to the Brick & Tile Works. All comments welcome. have a good evening.

Now this one I did miss, fantastic pov Alan, the reflected winding gear really adds to the image. The little puff of smoke from the steam engine and the hazyness over the distant trees really gives that industrial feel. Bravo!!!!!
