Description

I know this is really grainy, but you'll have to give me a break. I took this picture from a moving vehicle, going South on Interstate 5 at about 70 mph, with the telephoto zoom on. I got one shot off, and this was it. For those of you who are starting to freak out, NO, I wasn't driving! Sheesh! I may be a little crazy, but I'm not THAT crazy! Actually, I don't even drive on the freeway. So . . . this is the Capitol building in Olympia, Washington. As you can see, it's modeled after the one in DC - what we out here like to call "The OTHER Washington." Don't bother with full view - it doesn't help any! :)

Taking photo from a moving car is a hard task. You did a marvelous job doing it. Like a peeking dome from a green trees.

That's a very good shot from a moving car. The white dome looks great above the trees.

What can I add to the comments above? Actually, little or nothing. Okay, pretty good shot considering the conditions. After an afternoon and evening of listening to literally seventy Guy Lombardo songs, it's kind of hard to get into the swing of things here on RR.

Our capitol building was also modeled after the one in D.C. It is so much like it that Hollywood uses our capitol for the outside shots of movies that call for the capitol. Good shot here. BTW, I don't drive freeways either. If its not on a surface street then I just don't go.

LOL! I am so laughing of what you wrote, Tara :)))) I like your humor alot. I am taking shots of the landscapes around me whan my husband is driving. I have many exiting shots, taken that way. This one is very good :))) One day I will show you some of my driving shots :)

Nice one Tara, I have a sunset somewhere taken whilst doing 100mph up the M1 motorway, by the way I was driving BUT my son took the photograph for me. I will see If I can find it. This is good really forget the grain, I didn't know that there were two Capitol Buildings, I did know there was two Washingtons however. Taken from a moving vehicle at extreme zoom through a gap in the trees, what can one say except "Jolly well done Tara." I admire your tenacity, no matter what I get the shot. Bravo!!!!!

Sometimes I take a picture that is not really a great shot but what it is or how I got it is so cool that I post it anyway. I think that is what you got here. Very cool shot my friend :)

Every time I drive by the golden-domed, state capitol building in Charleston, West Virginia, I think about trying to get a photo. To do it justice, I'd need several trys at different times of day and weather.
