Description

The wedding was beautiful but our beautiful day ended on a bad note. When we got home last night we discovered our home had been broken into. The tv was gone, one computer was gone, the kid's piggy banks were gone, and because my daughter nor I took our purses with us last night, they too were gone with all the contents including our money. It's a horrible feeling to come home and discover that someone whom doesn't belong in your home has been there and that your personal things have been gone through and some taken. We spent the night up and afraid to go to sleep in case whom ever had been there might come back. We worked our selfs silly these past two months for what money we had, me so I could get my own place, now we have to start all over again....but even though that left me with a sinking uneasy feeling it didn't compare to the realization of how this ruined my daughter's wedding day. The intruder or intruders broke a window and came in but apparently no one heard or saw anything. I urge everyone to have a security device put into your homes if you don't have one...we now wish we had. God Bless and Blessed be.

Oh WOW...it's horrible to have intrusions like that...It happened twice to my family in Chicago so I can utterly sympathize with your feelings. Hopefully things improve greatly, however. Odd how neighbors don't notice, they never seem to and on the two occasions it happened at my childhood home...no one noticed and it was in broad daylight. Ah, but even that can't dampen the joy of a wedding and the significance of that, so at least there's something good to remember on that day as well...and it's admirable that you have also posted artwork while the memory of the other bad stuff is still in your mind. THAT is a brave and necessary step; a nice declaration that life goes on! Now, as for the artwork, I love the qualities it has. This is a lovely winter scene, calming in a way. The rocks are utterly fascinating. They look like standstone! Great work.

Oh Marley how terrible! I've been there also. You feel violated. I have heard there are people who watch the papers to see when funerals and weddings are and then break in to the homes. There will always be those who pray on others. They are lower than pond scum. What a bummer and on your daughter's wedding day.So sorry.

So sorry to hear about the break-in! Hopefully they will get caught and prosecuted and you'll get some of your belongings back. When we first moved here 17 years ago, one of the first things we bought was a security system. I'm glad the wedding went well. This is a beautiful winter scene!!!

I'm very sorry to hear of such a bad end to a lovely wedding day. Such setbacks are a chance to show our strengths though and you've come right back with a beautiful snowscape here! Very well done!

Marly, you have made a thing of beauty!!! It is so sad some others know nothing of creation, beauty, fairless, and giving, but only know to take what is not their's. They often have no idea how hard you may have worked to save and just think they have a right to take . . . Here is hoping they will be caught, learn a lesson and your stuff returned. May the wonderful memories of your daughter's wedding and her new family outshine the dark deep that struck your home.

It is horrible that this would happen at any time, but for it to happen on a day which is to be one of the most memorable for a young lady it leaves behind an added after-taste. I am sorry that it happened to you and your family. Lovely wintery scene!! Excellent job!!!

This is a wonderful winter scene! Give me the shivers just looking at it, LOL! I've had my home broken into twice, so I know how you feel. The sanctity and safety of your home has been violated, and you just don't ever feel safe in your home, your sanctuary, any more. It's awful. There are horrible people in this world today. But what goes around, comes around. There time will come. I'm so sorry this happened to you, especially at this time.

Beautiful render Marlene, though I would have left the tree out of it. The rest is wonderful. My deepest sympathies regarding the theft. In your place I would do the following: Write down a descriptive list of Items that have value. You might have the PC serial number on the docs that came with it. Take this info to every pawn shop in the area. Tell the owner there is an unspecified reward for the PC. The data on it being more valuable than the PC itself. Tell the owner to discreetly call the police. They will arrest the seller and confiscate the property. You will eventually get the property back. Check to see if the data has been erased, justify your reward accordingly. The pawn shop owner should get something for their honesty. This has worked for several of my friends that got robbed. Thieves are usually pretty stupid. Report ID and credit cards stolen. If it helps at all, feel sorry for the thieves. They will pay for this crime (and probably many more like it) over the rest of their lives. Call it Karma or logic. This type of mindset makes them their own worst enemy. They will be miserable all their lives and will grow old deeply regretting their past choices. Anyway, hope this helps... hugs from Dave :^)
