Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Interesting, they do have similar decoration along the rail bars. Excellent shot. Aloha

This is an exquisite composition...a fantastic capture of the colors and the whole ambiance of the area is stunning. This is most definitely a top notch shot, and a great glimpse into the more real life and less touristy elements. Great work, and hopefully you're having fun! It's nice though, that the bars seem more a part of the "every day deal" there, rather than something that takes away from the ambiance of both that area and the image you captured of it. To me, it seems like everyone there takes what precautions are necessary, but they also live AROUND the bars rather than behind them.

Such a lovely colourful place! The bars are so decorative, sad that they are a necessity.
pixeltek
Yes, sad about the bars, it tells you about the ineffectiveness of their police force, and you know why that is, too. However, that aside, a nice shot that shows the uniqueness of their culture.

Great POV for this shot, great accent of color too. It's a shame the bars are more necessary than decorative however.
