Description

This is maybe the quintessential image of Puerto Vallarta. It's the crown on top of Our Lady of Guadalupe church. Half the postcards and art you see show it. In 1995, there was a pretty severe earthquake; I happened to be here at the time. A friend's daughter looked out her window just in time to see the crown collapse. It was originally concrete, but this new one is fiberglass. The earthquake happened in October; they had the new one installed in time for the feast day in December. I've taken liberties with the color, of course!!

That'd be a crazy sight to see. A lil stomach rumble and the crown came off of the queen's head. She must be pretty proper for that to happen lol. not a bad color twist to it. Good job! ^^

This is a beautiful capture, and the postwork done on it adds to the inherent beauty already evident here. The colors are vivid and striking, but not overpowering, which is always good; I especially like the full spectrum of colors here, all working beautifully with the natural relationship between the light and shadows. Great image, and a fantastic snippet of information to go along with it.

Although the colors have been altered, you kept the feel and festive feeling of Mexico within the image...well done! Fun capture.

And quite a nice liberty you have taken, it looks spectacular Marilyn. Excellent capture and the colours blend very well indeed, I would like to see this wonderful sight myself but seeing as that is not possible, I will see it with your eyes and lens instead. Thank you for sharing. Bravo!!!!!
