Description

I have always liked to take pictures, but it has always been in a casual way. I didn't consider myself to be a 'photographer'. The past 6 months, being here at RR, looking at and learning from your photos, and reading a little about photography, playing with the camera and editing software I realize I can be a photographer. I still have a long way to go, I have yet to master my little Kodak P880, but I am working on it. Then some day I plan to graduate to a bigger and better camera... lol. Anyway, what I wanted to say is, Isn't it amazing how you look at things differently when you have a camera and have been bitten by the photography bug? I have never looked so closely at a tree before (except when I was a child, and I looked at it to see if it was a good climbing tree, not a photo-op...lol). I also find myself going through the day and I'll see something and think well I wonder what that would look like in a photo, or oooh, that would be a good photo! LOL. So here is more bark, I chose this one because the pattern in the bark intrigued me. Thank you for viewing and commenting on my previous upload, "In the Bark" . Have a Fabulous Friday! ~HUGS~

I hope you haven't been 'barking' up the wrong tree hehehehe. Great shot of fascinating shapes and textures.

This is an exquisite capture. It has an otherworldly quality to it, which of course would draw my attention. The extreme clarity of it is great, as is the abstract quality that allows a multitude of different interpretations. I love the fact that it looks like an aeral photo of an alien planet.

What kind of tree is that? The texture this close looks like stonework. Like part of the pattern crumbled after years of erosion. Nice picture. Todd

Well, I notice Hawk23 borrowed my oft used line about not barking up the wrong tree. Oh well. Anyway, as an addicted observer of tree bark myself, I must say you have served yourself well as a blossoming photographer with the sharp clarity in this terrific macro of the tortuous light, shadows, nooks, crannies and various hues at play in this particular tree skin.

Very interesting and nice texture in this closeup shot! Please, consider yourself as a true photographer, as all of us are amateurs here, or so I think!:-)
