To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
Heather

Thanks to all for stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.

"I get out my work and have a show for myself before I have it publicly.
I make up my own mind about how good or bad or indifferent it is.
After that the critics can write what they please.
I have already settled it for myself so flattery
and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free.

... and I'm sure that unlike many other women (and some men...), the sight of Richard Chamberlain on the screen had nothing to do with Shogun being a fave ... right, Mina? ;'] Excellent image ... I especially like the inclusion of the dragonfly... Did you know?... Another name for Japan is Akitsushmi? (Translation: Dragonfly Island) OK, enough trivia ... Great work, Mina!

I often wonder whether anyone is able to experience the moment ... taking into account synaptic delay, the best any of us can do is experience the immediate past. What reality is and how we perceive it takes one through a labyrinth of mere approximations. BTW My most vivid memory of "Shogun" is the "night of a thousand screams" where one of the hapless European sailors was continuously dipped into a vat of boiling water for the enjoyment of a randy Japanese nobleman. Excellent image dearest Mina. HUGS

Oooh, a reference to Shogun! I remember reading it and then developing a crush on the actress, Yoko Shimada as Mariko. Anyway, on to this image. It is utterly fantastic and captures both a modern and a somewhat old fashioned mood. I like the fact that both are included. The composition is utterly fantastic and the kanji, along the borders is a wonderfully authentic touch. Great work!
