Description

Brookwood Cemetery was consecrated by the Bishop of Winchester on 7 November 1854 and opened to the public on 13 November 1854. At that time Brookwood Cemetery was the largest burial ground in the world. Today this is no longer true, but it remains the largest Cemetery in the UK, and is probably the biggest in Western Europe. Since 1854, over 235,000 people have been buried here. Thank you for looking, as always any comments or suggestions welcome 8~) **Best Viewed Full Size**

In our central cemetery, they use a machine to dig new graves, looking at the bottom right of this shot there is an indentation that could well have come from a machine driving over the grass to get too a dig site. So on that observation I'm going for in. Well spotted David, it looks like theres a big tree just beyond the Celtic cross, thats casting a shadow over the ground, coupled with the really dark patch top right, it gives the image a spooky mood, if this had been done at dusk then it would have been perfect material for Holloween. Bravo!!!!!

Looks like a belated Halloween-shot.. Beautiful old graves, looks more like braking in, but I much more fancy the idea of breaking out! :)
