Description
Ordinarily, I do not re-post an image unless I have had second thoughts about the quality and/or authenticity of the image composition. The previous image; SunGold, contained a population of Saguaro cactus which is not indigenous to the red rock country of northern Arizona/Utah �it is too cold and of a higher elevation than this cactus is accustomed to in these regions. Saguaros thrive in the Sonoran desert and its range is from extreme southeastern California, southern Arizona; and, adjoining northwestern Mexico.
Traveling north from Phoenix towards Flagstaff, you will notice the population of Saguaros decrease as the elevation increases. Even in nearby red-rock Sedona, you will not find the Saguaro. It is for this reason that I decided to re-work this image limiting the vegetation to sage brush and creosote bushes.
Improvements to this image include the addition of cumulus clouds which cast some nice shadows on the upper terrain; and, a change of POV moving closer to the mountains and lower to the ground. The larger cracked rocks are a bit too smooth; I will continue to work on this.

yes i like this also a little bit more than the first one, the vegetation is even more realistic and the wonderful sky brings this one really to life.
